the difference between these two picture is subtle yet very significant at the same time. the image by Parks seem to portray an unhappy, tired, and beaten down african-american woman. The image by Sander, however, portrays a woman who seems strong, determined, and willed. Parks portrayed negativity in a culture where as Sander portrayed pride.

These two images by Parks and Sander are very similar yet different simoultaneously. At first glance the two seem to depict the same message.however, if you look deeper you find it not so. Parks picture show a worn down women, beaten by the negativity of a community. Sander's image show a women who demonstrates strength and determination.
